
Chapter Development and Support Committee
This committee helps identify the needs of chapters, makes recommendations to the Board for chartering new chapters, and recommends policies and procedures relating to chapters. The committee meets by conference call approx. 8-10 times per year.
Child Advocacy Committee
This committee monitors legislative events and activities and keeps the Board and membership apprised of events of potential interest and impact to SPN and pediatric nurses. The committee meets by conference call approx. 8-10 times per year.
Clinical Practice Committee
This committee develops the content for various projects as charged by the Board of Directors, and reviews abstracts for the SPN Convention Program. The committee meets by conference call approx. 8-10 times per year.
Education Committee
This committee develops the content for various projects as charged by the Board of Directors, and reviews abstracts for the SPN Convention Program. The committee meets by conference call approx. 8-10 times per year.
Membership Committee
develops and executes strategies at increasing SPN membership at the national level. The meeting frequency of this committee is to be determined. This committee will meet by conference call, and email correspondences will be required throughout the year.
Nominating Committee
This committee is the only SPN committee with elected members. Committee members are responsible for recruiting eligible candidates for the annual election. Self-nomination to be considered a candidate for the committee is encouraged.
Program Planning Committee
This committee is comprised of a diverse group of pediatric nurses who practice in all areas of healthcare. Committee membership is on a volunteer basis and requires a two year commitment. The committee's main responsibility is coordinating the annual SPN Convention. This group is responsible for selecting speakers, reviewing and recommending submitted abstracts, planning conference activities and formalizing the conference brochure. Program planning committee meetings are held monthly via conference calls, with additional correspondence occurring through email communication. In between monthly meetings additional work may be required to support initiatives focused on the conference. Culmination of the members work is noted in the creation of innovative and unforgettable conferences. Research Committee
This committee administers the SPN Research Grant Program and reviews research abstracts for the SPN convention program. The committee meets by conference call approx. 8-10 times per year.
To volunteer for an SPN Committee, download the Willingness to Serve Form. Committees are appointed by the Board in October of each year. The term of appointment is two years long. The committee year runs from January-December.
