Session Type: Leadership and Management

Session Description: This session will be of interest to new BSN graduates, educators and leaders and managers charged with education and development in their institution or network. The new Competencies for Post-BSN graduates will be presented and the supporting literature briefly reviewed. The development of the competencies as a leadership initiative that crosses individual agency boundaries with potential for future collaboration will be included.
Primary Presenter Bio: Jean Ivey, PhD, ARNP,PNP-PC, FAANP, and Casey O. Benedetto, MSN, RN, CPN co-lead the project. Dr. Ivey is a nursing educator and nurse practitioner who works part-time in nursing education and on selected projects.

Presenter 3 Bio: Patricia Hosang Beam, is the Coordinator of Pediatric Nursing Professional Development at UH/Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She is responsible for all aspects of inpatient and out-patient pediatric nursing education. She assisted in the development of the Pediatric Nurse Residency Curriculum. Ms. Beam is ANCC board certified in Professional Development, she holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
