Session Description: One in 68 U.S. children has autism and up to 80% have sleep problems. Sleep does not improve without interventions and until now only in-person parental education has shown positive results. Online parental education of sleep strategies may have better outcomes including giving families access who would otherwise face barriers.
Primary Presenter Bio: Cristy Roberts has been a pediatric nurse for over 40 years. She has worked in most areas of the children's hospital including home care and taught nursing school for over 15 years. She has a special passion for children with autism and their families. Dr. Roberts has spent the last several years researching sleep issues of children and strategies to alleviate poor sleep.
