Session Description: Learn more about one hospital's approach to improving the culture of safety. Using peer coaches and leader engagement, the safety coach program saw an increase in error reporting, a decrease in error severity, and in increase in staff demonstrating safety behaviors in day to day work.
Primary Presenter Bio: Dr. Gayla Huffman is a Safety and Error Prevention Education Specialist with over a decade of experience in the pediatric setting. She has presented nationally and internationally on a variety of topics including safe patient handling & pediatric obesity. She is an active member of her local SPN chapter and a member of the national SPN Education Committee.
