Session Description: Attending this exciting interactive immunization preconference workshop will motivate and inspire attendees in reaching for the immunization pinnacle. A variety of teaching methods will be utilized to address the many facets of immunizations and practice including:
• Interpreting vaccination records
• Tips on vaccine administration
• Playing games
• Role play conversations regarding vaccine acceptance and hesitancy
• Results of a qualitative research study asking staff nurses to describe how they identify, interpret, and respond to their patients’ vaccination history
• Commonly asked questions and answers

Primary Presenter Bio: Cindy is the Immunization Program Coordinator at Children's Mercy Hospital Kansas City. Vaccines are her passion and she is committed to improving vaccination rates through education, administration and example. She is co-chair of the Mid-America Immunization Coalition Steering Committee as well co-chair of the hospital's immunization committee.

Presenter 2 Bio: Dr. Jackie Bartlett is the Director of Evidence Based Practice at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She advocates for direct care nurses to become involved with clinical practice analysis. Her research included a study with nurses knowledge of human papillomavirus. She serves on the hospital's immunization committee.
Presenter 3 Bio: Stephanie is a nurse in Adolescent Medicine (Teen Clinic). She is very knowledgeable about vaccines and a part of her everyday life is talking with Teens and parents about vaccines. She, very effectively, trains residents and other nurses how to talk with teens about getting vaccines through role playing. She is an active member of the hospital's immunization committee.
