Virtual Event FAQs

Registration

What is the cancellation policy for the Virtual Annual Conference?

Due to the nature of the Virtual Annual Conference and the fact that all registered attendees will have access to all recorded sessions SPN has made the decision not to offer any refunds for the Virtual Annual Conference. Substitutions, however, are allowed at any time prior to the event and can be made by submitting the request in writing to registration@pedsnurses.org.

What happens if I register and then I can’t attend at all (e.g., my employer cuts funding, etc.)?

As noted above, SPN will allow you to transfer your registration to a colleague at any time prior to the event start by submitting the request in writing to registration@pedsnurses.org, however no refunds or cancellations will be permitted for 2021.

What does the cost of registration cover?

SPN is partnering with a premier virtual conference platform provider to produce the same high-quality experience that you expect from the in-person Annual Conference. Registration fees for the Virtual Annual Conference are less than registration fees for the in-person event and provide the opportunity for conference attendees to access more sessions and education than at an in-person meeting.

In-Person Conference

Why did you decide to cancel the in-person conference?

After much discussion, the SPN Board of Directors and Conference Planning Committee have decided to transition to a full online virtual conference. The safety, health, and well-being of our conference attendees always remains the top priority. We believe this shift in event format is in the best interest of our attendees and partners, and we are confident that we will provide the same great educational content and networking experiences in an even more dynamic and interactive digital environment.

Virtual Conference

Will the dates of the conference stay the same?

The event dates will mostly remain the same, however we are condensing the conference to three days to take place Wednesday, April 14 – Friday, April 16, and are adjusting the schedule so that no live education or networking takes place over the weekend.

What will be different about a virtual conference?

With this new format, SPN is striving to assure that all attendees receive the same high-quality experience that you expect from the in-person Annual Conference. Virtual attendees will be able to watch all plenary and keynote sessions, attend educational breakout sessions of your choice in each time slot, view posters, obtain continuing education credits, and interact with our exhibitors, sponsors, and each other.

The virtual format of the event also allows us to offer our concurrent educational breakout sessions in an on-demand format, past the date of the conference, which will allow registered attendees to experience significantly more sessions, and obtain significantly more contact hours than would have been possible during our in-person event. All registered attendees will have access to all recorded sessions through Monday, May 31. Please refer to the Schedule page for the full schedule of events.

Will I be able to earn Continuing Education Hours?

Yes. SPN is pleased to share that we currently anticipate that attendees will have the opportunity to earn 40+ continuing education hours for attending the live and on-demand portions of the Virtual Annual Conference.

How will the Virtual Conference be run? Will it be easy to navigate?

SPN is partnering with a virtual conference vendor to ensure that the Virtual Annual Conference is an easy to navigate virtual experience for attendees. In advance of the conference, SPN will provide attendees with introductory information to ensure you are comfortable with the platform. SPN staff will be available throughout the conference to support and assist attendees.

What should I expect after I register for the Virtual Annual Conference?

In advance of the start of the Virtual Annual Conference, you will receive an email from XX our platform provider, with the link to access the platform and session pages.

What device can I use to access the Virtual Annual Conference?

The event can be accessed by mobile devices, including tablets and smartphones. However, we strongly recommend using a desktop computer or laptop with a stable Internet connection for best performance and experience.

As an attendee, how long will I have access to the recorded content of the Virtual Annual Conference?

Attendees will have access to recorded sessions through May 31, 2021. After this date, if you'd like to access recorded content from the Virtual Annual Conference, you would need to purchase the Virtual Annual Conference Recording Package.

What is the difference between the recorded content available in the platform and the conference recordings?

Attendees will have access to recordings of all sessions (where speakers have given permission) within the platform shortly following the live presentation. As an attendee, you will be able to access this content through May 31, 2021.

For those either seeking access following May 31, or for those who do not register to attend the Virtual Annual Conference, the conference recordings package will feature select educational sessions and and will be made available in summer 2021.
