Opening Keynote: Moving the EBP Conversation into Action to Engage Clinicians, Improve Care, and Deliver Outcomes

The presentation will highlight current challenges in creating and sustaining evidence-based enterprises and effective strategies to address them. Current research and critical work required in clinical and academic settings will be discussed; moving past the “EBP conversation” to implementation of action items to make EBP a reality to improve care/outcomes.

Plenary Session: Pediatric Nursing Today: What’s Happening Behind the Curtain

This session will unveil current initiatives and ongoing research on topics with relevance for pediatric nurses. PNCB’s initiative on continuing competence will be revealed, as well as the behind-the-scenes work of the Institute of Pediatric Nursing on alternative pediatric clinical sites, diversity in the workforce, and mental health resources.

Closing Session: Livin’, Learnin’ and Laughin’ Through the Years

Join Barb down a hilarious trip of memory lane through the last 30 years of nursing and medicine. Barb highlights the many advances in the clinical field as well as the changes in the workplace over the years. She emphasizes the importance of "keeping up" with the ever-changing world of science and technology, the importance of collaborative care with not only health professionals, but also with patients, and the importance of maintaining one's health while balancing everyone else's lives. You will leave the seminar with a renewed sense of self and professionalism, not to mention laughing your way to the produce aisle.
