Description: This presentation will review the key 5 steps of emotion coaching, allow participants opportunities to explore their own emotional intelligence, review adolescent emotional development and review how to apply emotion coaching techniques to teenage patients and support their parents/caregivers in applying the techniques. The method was originally designed as a resource for parents to support children in navigating their emotional world; however, the method of emotion coaching and its benefits extend far beyond parent child interactions and is a useful tool for behavioral health providers.
