This simulation will stimulate critical thinking, pediatric assessment skills, professionalism and improves communication skills. Presenters: Krista Westbrook, MSN, RN, CPN Session Description: Pediatric nurse residents face high stress and low resilience, risking burnout and attrition. Educators worked with new graduate nurses in both the critical care and acute care float pools to develop a tool to encourage peer-led discussions on resilience. The conversations challenged residents to reflect on their personal beliefs about resilience and to share the coping strategies they use during their shifts. Presenters: Grace Alden, MSN, RN; Megan Mendiola, BSN, RN Session Description: Clinical decompensation presents differently for medically complex pediatric patients. In post-acute care facilities, late recognition of decompensation results in emergent transfer of the patient to a higher level of care. Using an interdisciplinary team approach, the Pediatric Early Warning Sign (PEWS) tool was customized for medically complex pediatric patients in post-acute care. The result has been a reduction in the transfer of patient care, enabled by early recognition of clinical decompensation. Session Track: Quality Improvement

3:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Closing Session — Leading Innovation: Navigating Nursing’s Blockbuster Moment (1.0 NCPD Contact Hour)
The total amount of NCPD Contact Hours conference attendees may earn up to is 24.50 NCPD Contact Hours. Attendees can earn up to 17.5 NCPD contact hours by participating in conference sessions. An additional 4.0 NCPD contact hours are available for reviewing virtual posters, and another 3.0 NCPD contact hours can be earned by attending an optional pre-conference event. Access to session slides, handouts, and poster PDFs will be provided to conference attendees.
Attendees must complete at least 25 poster evaluations to be awarded 4.0 NCPD contact hours. Attendees may complete as many evaluations as desired, but the attendee will not be awarded more than 4.0 NCPD contact hours.

Results show 76% of participants prefer the gamified format to support hospital-wide practice change. Session Track Education
